Mike Forster Following service with the RAF, Mike joined IBM (UK) Ltd where he held a variety of sales
and marketing positions. Frustrated by the constraints of an international corporation, he joined the Vickers Underwater Engineering
Group as a commercial submarine pilot, where he rose to become Operations Director, managing contracts in UK, Norway, Italy,
India, China and Brazil.
Following a sabbatical year, in which he took a Masters Degree at Lancaster University
School of Management and Organisational Psychology, he was appointed Managing Director of British Oceanics Ltd, the world
leader in the operation of commercial manned submarines. He later established the Newcastle Technology Centre, the first of
a series of regional centres which linked entrepreneurs and academics, in order to develop new products and processes.
In recent years, he has run his own small business, providing adventure activities in UK and Italy.
Mike
